Freeze pane in Excel is important for fixing excel worksheets in columns or rows after selection. Sometimes working with very large spreadsheets, where headings located at the top and the left side of the worksheet often enable column data, if an Excel sheet is scrolled down or scrolled right then top row and left the first column disappears but this is important to see. To avoid this problem, use Excel's freeze panes feature. It freezes or locks specific columns or rows of the worksheet so that they remain visible at all times that help to work.

Purpose :

Keep of worksheet column or row of data as fixed that are you specified.

 

Example :

Three different options for freeze panes are:

1) Freeze the first column of the worksheet.
If you want to freeze the first column in your worksheet then you can follow this image
Go > Ribbon >View>Freeze pane >Freeze First Column.

2) Freeze the top row of a worksheet.
If you want to freeze the top row in your worksheet then you can follow this image

Go > Ribbon >View>Freeze pane >Freeze  First top row.

3)Freeze a user-defined number of both columns and rows.
If you want to freeze top row and first column both in your worksheet then you can follow this image, In this case, the cell should be kept in B2. Before select, any pane unfreezes the previous pane.

Go > Ribbon >View>Freeze pane >Freeze  pane.
