 Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Master the essential features of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Be able to create, format, and analyze documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Gain practical skills for using Microsoft Office tools in business and personal contexts.

Introduction to Microsoft Office (2 Classes)

Class 1: Introduction to Microsoft Word (2 hours)

  • Overview of Microsoft Word interface
  • Creating and saving documents
  • Formatting text (fonts, sizes, styles, and colors)
  • Working with paragraphs (alignment, indentation, line spacing)
  • Using bullet points and numbering

Class 2: Introduction to Microsoft Excel (2 hours)

  • Overview of Microsoft Excel interface
  • Introduction to cells, rows, and columns
  • Basic formatting (font, cell size, alignment)
  • Using number formats (currency, date, percentage, etc.)
  • Simple calculations (SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX)

Microsoft Word (3 Classes)

Class 3: Formatting Documents in Word (2 hours)

  • Advanced formatting techniques (headers, footers, page numbers)
  • Inserting images, tables, and shapes
  • Using Styles for consistent formatting
  • Creating and managing a table of contents

Class 4: Working with Templates, References, and Review Tools (2 hours)

  • Using and customizing templates
  • Inserting footnotes, endnotes, and citations
  • Track changes and comments for collaboration
  • Using the “Find and Replace” feature effectively

Class 5: Document Formatting and Printing (2 hours)
